So we booked 2 nights in Nice and ended up staying for 6 nights. Any of you who have been there understand. We decided we should probably just live there however we also learned why Brad and Angelina live in the area; they are the only ones who can afford to. The most expensive house in the world was recently purchased there and in case you were wondering that is not in our budget.
Nice is right on the Mediterranean and hilly and for some reason took hold of us. The day trips are crazy beautiful to other small towns by the sea and cost 1 euro for each trip. We did this hike around a peninsula near Nice one day, it took a couple hours but was the highlight of our trip so far. Walking along a small path with no safety rails watching the waves crash up the sides of the rocks at your feet - awesome. We also visited a tiny village called Eze Village and it was out of some fairy tale with little narrow cobble stone streets and constant mini staircases within castle walls at the top of a mountain-hill. We also stopped in Monaco for all you cash-posh-grand prix fans. It was fine but probably more of a summer time stop for what we were told would be good gold-digger watching, etc.
We eventually had to leave, mostly because the French train system was going on strike and we did not want to get stuck as we are only in Europe for 3 more weeks! Crazy!
One last note about our hostel in Nice, (it was the best so far) but the brownies, oh my...fresh homemade everynight, way too big and way too good. Steve let me get them more than once, I always knew he loved me!
So now we are in Barcelona. Looks as tho the rain has followed us...again. I know, at least it isnt snow!
PS - I also accidentally deleted all of our pictures up to this point when we had just arrived in Nice. (Insert anger and tears here). It´s not Nice`s fault. So I still like Nice.
Later.
Love,
Stikki

I feel your picture pain Nikki. Last year I lost the camera card of more than 400 photos of our Italy trip. Yup, the first 10 days (All of Venice and Rome) of a 12 day trip with Lisa. I believe it went missing at the Cinque Terre! I am still grieving but it does get better, believe me. Have fun!
